CJR is responsible for a Work Package (WP) aimed at coordinating the installation of technologies in 5 European countries: Spain, Finland, Greece, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.

it's a goal of CJR to produce prefabricated insulation panels, incorporating silica aerogel, for installation in Spain and Greece.

In Mafra, the Portuguese pilot building is located, built in 1970 and has two floors with a total area of 130 m². It is situated in Carvoeira (Municipality of Mafra). The facade was constructed with stone and two layers of plaster. The windows are single-pane glass with wooden frames. Due to poor insulation, the house has several water infiltrations and high humidity. The house is naturally ventilated, but the ventilation design clearly is not suitable for good air quality. In winter, the house is heated with a 2 kW electric radiator. In this building, technologies developed in the project will be installed: Heat pump with thermodynamic panels, Heat recovery window, Photovoltaic window, Innovative blinds for redirecting light and heat, and also smart control and measurement devices.

Attain the goal of zero energy consumption by reducing heat losses through the building envelope and energy consumption through heating, cooling, ventilation, and lighting, while simultaneously increasing the share of renewable energy in buildings.
