Building New Horizons Since 1970

Founded in 1970 by Mr. Cândido José Rodrigues, CJR S.A. began its activity in equipment rental and soon expanded into construction contracting. Over the decades, the company developed expertise in roads, infrastructure, public works, urban rehabilitation, and construction, evolving alongside the industry and progressively strengthening its technical capabilities.

In 1971, CJR S.A. entered the construction contracting sector with the execution of five roads in Melgaço. Over the following decades, the company expanded its activities into roads, infrastructure, paving, sanitation, and public works, progressively broadening its expertise.

In the 1990s, the company strengthened its technical structure and entered new areas, including urban rehabilitation, commercial and industrial projects, and highway construction.

At the turn of the millennium, CJR S.A. took an important step in consolidating its operations with the acquisition of its first Asphalt Mix Production Plant, strengthening its autonomy and execution capabilities. In 2002, the company also expanded into building construction, broadening its scope beyond infrastructure. In 2004, CJR further strengthened its structure with a new headquarters built by the company itself and obtained certifications in quality, environmental management, and safety, consolidating an organization increasingly prepared to respond to the evolution of the industry. 

Over the past decade, CJR has strengthened its technical and operational capabilities through an integrated structure of Production Plants, Quarries, and Laboratories. With a presence from north to south, including Airão, Lagos, and Vale do Tejo, the company continues to develop engineering and construction projects across Portugal.

We plan each project with technical rigor, organization, and control, striving to ensure efficiency at every stage. The experience of our specialized teams, combined with production plants, laboratories, and our own equipment fleet, enables us to meet the demands of different types of work with quality, safety, and autonomy. This structure ensures greater control over resources, materials, and project execution.
