The
Production Center of Figueiral, in the Algarve, registered, last March, a new
sales record, surpassing the mark of 4600 tons, the best number since Cândido
José Rodrigues S.A took the bet in this quarry.
Filipe
Nunes, responsible for the Center, assumes his satisfaction, but is not
euphoric, aware of the difficulties that the current world situation can bring
to the sector, although he assumes a positive position in relation to what the
market can expect, “this difficult phase that the country is going through, and
that is transversal to everyone, forced us to change daily habits, adapt
strategies and priorities, and to think about life differently. It is a huge
challenge that we all have in our hands, and that only more united and
collaborative can be successfully overcome”.
This new reality that we all have to deal with has forced
some plans changes, however, the major projects planned for the near future in
this region are at the top of the priorities, as said engineer Filipe Nunes,
“in the Algarve region we were forced to suspend some activities, however we continue
to work on the preparation of the previously granted works. The most important
work for us is currently the contract for the requalification of the Municipal
Road EM537 (Quatro Estradas – Vila da Luz), for the Municipality of Lagos”, budgeted
at €1,616,092.53 and scheduled to star in may.
Considering the projects that CJR SA has in the
Algarve, the team has been strengthened and, at this moment, the performance strategy
for the coming months is being prepared, as underlined Filipe Nunes, “this
period has also used to reorganize the structure in the Region with the
inclusion of a new manager for the Quarry and Construction sites, which will
provide greater proximity to the productive and maintenance areas in order to promote
a close control over these operations”.
In the south of the country, as in the north, Cândido
José Rodrigues S.A. maintains its commitment to responsible execution of its obligations,
always with its eyes on the future.
